School

The saga with the planning application for a 420 place School at the site of the Old Police Station continues. With lots of help we and others have submitted our objections and these can now be seen on Camden’s planning web site. There are also now full reports on educational need, noise, Heritage, traffic and much more and we hope that these will be taken into account when the Council decide on the application at a future Planning meeting.

Once we have a date for the meeting we will be encouraging everyone to attend.
Attached in the School file of DHRA web site you will also find a letter to the Education Funding Agency, which is funding the proposal and which asks several of the key questions re the proposed school.

ERUV Planning application 2016/1436/P

You may have noticed that the Council have put up a notice about a planning application for an ERUV to include Downshire Hill. The application seeks permission to install eightytwo x 3.5-5.5 metre poles from Platts Lane down through Hampstead village, to Downshire Hill and then South End Green, to Chalk Farm Road and Swiss Cottage. Of the total number of poles proposed some 32 are in the village.

Pictures of the proposed locations, with and without the poles, are shown on the Camden Web site. Comments have to be in to the council by the 9th June so if anyone does want to comment there is not much time.

Basements.

Camden at long last have announced that from 1st June 2017 any basement will need planning permission. A good step forward but still a long way to go to ensure neighbours’ interests are protected.

AGM

The next AGM will be held on Weds 3rd June where an update on all the issues will be discussed over a glass or two. Hope to see everyone there,
